Challenge

A leading manufacturer in food processing faced the challenge of implementing an accurate and efficient weighing system for handling fries and potatoes destined for supermarkets. The system needed to ensure that every portion was weighed precisely, guaranteeing quality and consistency for the end customer. With the support of two of our technicians, and in close collaboration with the client based on a provided design, a Bodijn weighing system was installed and commissioned, fully tailored to the specific production lines and hygiene requirements of the food industry.

Objective

Commissioning of a precise and reliable weighing system, carefully installed to accurately weigh every portion of fries and potatoes for further processing and packaging. This system was designed not only to ensure product quality and minimize waste but also to enable efficient flow within the production line, ensuring smooth and consistent operational processes.

Execution

OBS Techniek was responsible for the assembly and installation of the weighing systems in this project and carried out the following tasks:

  • Installation of weighing systems: The Bodijn weighing units were installed precisely according to the drawings, ensuring that every portion of fries and potatoes can be weighed accurately.

  • Connection to the production line: The weighing systems were integrated with the existing conveyors and production lines, ensuring continuous and efficient product flow.

  • Calibration and adjustment: Each system was carefully calibrated and adjusted to ensure maximum accuracy and reliability during production.

Result

A precise and reliable weighing system has been successfully commissioned and carefully installed within the production line. The system accurately weighs every portion of fries and potatoes, ensuring consistent product quality and minimizing waste.

In addition, the weighing system contributes to an efficient and consistent flow within the production process. As a result, operational processes run smoothly and reliably, leading to improved process control, higher efficiency, and a stable packaging operation.
