Weighing system for the potato industry

Challenge
A leading food processing manufacturer faced the challenge of implementing an accurate and efficient weighing system for processing French fries and potatoes destined for supermarkets. The system had to ensure that each portion was processed precisely by weight, guaranteeing quality and consistency for the end customer. With the help of two of our technicians, in collaboration with the customer and based on a provided design, a single Bodijn weighing system was installed and commissioned, fully tailored to the specific production lines and hygiene requirements of the food industry.

Objective
To implement a precise and reliable weighing system, carefully assembled, capable of accurately weighing each portion of fries and potatoes for further processing and packaging. This system not only had to guarantee product quality and minimize waste, but also ensure efficient flow within the production line, ensuring smooth and consistent operational processes.

Implementation
OBS Techniek was responsible for the assembly and installation of the weighing systems in this project and performed the following activities:

  • Installation of weighing systems: The Bodijn weighing units were installed precisely according to the plan, so that every portion of fries and potatoes can be weighed accurately.
  • Connection to production line: The weighing systems were connected to the existing conveyor belts and production lines, ensuring a continuous and efficient product flow.
  • Calibration and Adjustment: Each system has been carefully calibrated and adjusted to ensure maximum accuracy and reliability during production.
