Challenge

A leading toy manufacturer faced the challenge of optimizing the efficiency of internal transport in their distribution center in Dundalk, Ireland. The goal was to improve the internal logistics processes through the installation of a conveyor belt system that would ensure the smooth and reliable flow of products.

Objective

To implement an efficient internal transport system by installing conveyor belts, leading to increased productivity and reduced operational costs. The system had to be both mechanically and electrically reliable, with a focus on durability and ease of maintenance.

Execution

OBS Techniek was responsible for the mechanical and electrical installation in this project, carrying out the following tasks:

  • Mechanical installation: The team of 5 mechanical installers, led by a specialized supervisor, installed the conveyor belts according to the design plan. This included the assembly of supporting structures, rollers, and drive systems.

  • Electrical installation: A team of 5 electrical installers, also under the guidance of a supervisor, handled the electrical wiring and integration of the control systems. This included the installation of motors, sensors, and control cabinets.

  • Coordination and supervision: Both the mechanical and electrical teams worked closely together to ensure seamless integration, with weekly progress reports and quality checks.

Result

The project resulted in a fully operational conveyor belt system that significantly improved the efficiency of internal transport within the distribution center. The collaboration between the mechanical and electrical teams at OBS Techniek ensured an installation that meets the highest standards of reliability and durability.

Challenge

A leading refrigeration supplier faced the challenge of implementing an efficient and reliable cooling system for the ripening cells of a major online supermarket. These ripening cells are essential for storing and accelerating the ripening of unripe fruits and vegetables, ensuring they are ready for distribution at the right time. With the support of 2 of our installers, multiple sets of cooling units, along with the necessary piping, were installed in collaboration with the client and based on a provided design.

Objective

The goal was to install a robust and energy-efficient system, through careful installation, capable of precisely regulating the climate conditions within the ripening cells. This system not only had to guarantee the quality of the products but also minimize operational costs through efficient technologies.

Execution

OBS Techniek was responsible for the installation in this project and performed the following tasks:

  • Piping installation: The infrastructure for the piping was installed to ensure optimal flow of the refrigerant.
  • Mounting of cooling units: The cooling units were precisely positioned according to the design to ensure even cooling within the ripening cells.
  • Installation of piping: High-quality pipes from the Aquatherm brand were installed using thermal welding techniques. These pipes are suitable for transporting Glycol, the refrigerant used.

Result

The project demonstrated that the collaboration resulted in a complete cooling system that is both efficient and reliable.
